Halibut Fishing Charters is looking forward to making your dream Homer fishing vacation come true.
For over 25 years, family owned and operated K-Bay Halibut Fishing Charters' experienced Alaska fishing guides have been fulfilling Alaska halibut, lingcod, salmon, rock fish and trout fishing dreams. We offer 1 day to 6 day fishing packages or you can create your own custom Alaska fishing package both on the ocean and freshwater. For a complete Alaska tour we would be happy to add to your custom Alaska fishing package a bear viewing adventure or for the more adventurous groups a remote fly-out Alaska fishing trip or an Alaska sea kayaking adventure.
Alaska Saltwater Halibut Fishing, Lingcod Fishing and Salmon Fishing
Our saltwater Alaska halibut fishing and salmon fishing packages offer exciting and adventurous day fishing for trophy size Alaska fish. Expect a scenic fun filled day reeling in fish. Imagine catching a "barn-door" size halibut, you'll need help so standing right beside you is an expert K-Bay guide who will be coaching you with the techniques needed to land a monster size halibut. You will want to buy a $10 halibut derby ticket at our office to make you eligible to win your share of the take which is around $50,000 (dependent on number of tickets sold). The winning halibut is often over 300 lbs. For our Halibut only charters everyone on board is given a Halibut Derby ticket at K-Bay's expense. It's our way of thanking you for your business and assuring that you are eligible to win when you catch the "Big One".
While fishing for halibut you may catch lingcod, which many feel is one of the best eating fish in Alaska. Some more exotic species you might catch while halibut fishing include yelloweye and black rockfish. Although these species are not targeted you may also catch salmon shark, sleeper shark, dogfish and skate which are released back to the ocean. For a little variety our full day combination fishing charters target halibut, salmon, ling cod and Blackrock fish. Lingcod fishing starts the first of July and some real monsters are waiting to be caught. King salmon fishing is available year round with the best time being mid-May through July. Silver salmon fishing is best in late July through August. Our saltwater salmon fishing techniques are mostly trolling for salmon but when opportunity presents itself we also cast lures, herring mooch or jig into passing schools of salmon.
Freshwater Salmon Fishing and Trout Fishing
On the world famous Kenai River and Kasilof River we offer fishing trips that provide an opportunity to try your hand at catching a trophy Alaska King Salmon that these rivers are renowned for. The Kenai River also offers excellent rainbow trout, steelhead, Silver Salmon and Sockeye (red) Salmon fishing. Our professional fishing guides will see to it that you have a wonderful fishing experience on these scenic rivers.
Alaska Sport Fishing Experience
Whether you spend a week or day fishing with KBay Charters, you'll discover that we have a
